With 3:45 remaining, the Tennessee Titans had a 27-23 lead on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tennessee was going to attempt a field goal, but Brett Kern ran a fake and he apparently fumbled the ball and Devin White would have returned it for a touchdown, but the refs already blew the whistle dead.
This did not turn out well for Tampa Bay as they lost to the Titans by a score of 27-23.
Ryan Tannehill threw the game-winning 8-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown with 6:55 remaining in regulation.
This was Tannehill’s second start and Tennessee is 2-0 in that span. He completed 21-of-33 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Tannehill also rushed for -3 yards on four carries.
Brown caught two passes for 11 yards receiving and a touchdown.
With the Tennessee Titans trailing 3-0 in the first-quarter, Tannehill threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith. Smith finished the game with six receptions for 78 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Delanie Walker did not play in this game for Tennessee with an ankle injury.
They extended their lead to 14-3 later in the first-quarter on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill to Tajae Sharpe. Sharpe finished with three receptions for 18 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Derek Henry was the leading rusher in this game for the Titans with 75 yards rushing on 16 carries. He also caught one pass for eight yards receiving.
With Tampa Bay trailing 17-9 late in the second-quarter, Jameis Winston threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans (missed two-point conversion).
Those two players connected once again in the third-quarter and this time it was on a 2-yard touchdown pass (Winston pass to Chris Godwin).
Jameis Winston completed 21-of-43 passes for 301 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 53 yards on eight carries.
Mike Evans finished with 11 receptions for 198 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Chris Godwin caught four passes for 43 yards receiving.
Ronald Jones rushed for 35 yards on 11 carries. He also caught one pass for 17 yards receiving.
The Tennessee Titans are playing in a tough AFC South division. All of those teams in that division is at least at .500 or better.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5) will go on the road and face the Seattle Seahawks (6-2) next Sunday.
