Thursday Night Football is a Prisoner of the Moment Trap!

Thursday Night Football is a trap!!
Pittsburgh (6-5-1) travels to Minnesota (5-7) in a battle of mediocre playoff hopefuls.
Pittsburgh is coming off arguably its best game of the year beating rival Baltimore and keeping their playoff hopes very alive.
Minnesota is coming off the most embarrassing loss in the whole NFL. A disaster of a loss to the Detroit Lions after coach Dan Campbell basically handed Minnesota a late-game lead.
Pittsburgh is 6-5-1 with Big Ben Roethlisberger doing his best poor man’s version of the last dance.
Minnesota has highly overpaid Kirk Cousins who has not won a big game on national television.
The Vikings come in as a 3 point favorite in this game….. wait, what!?! How is Minnesota favored after losing to a glorified college football team? Surely Pittsburgh plus points is the obvious play…..right?
NOOOOOOO!

Minnesota -3 is one of the best bets on the board this weekend. Do not be a prison of the moment. Here are some facts about this game.
    1.    Pittsburgh tied that same Lions team, and the Steelers were home. Sure they were without Big Ben, but does anyone really think he is a huge upgrade over a replacement player at this juncture of his illustrious career?
    2.    Prior to last week, Minnesota was the only team in the NFL to lead in every game by 7 points or more. Sure they only led by 4 last week before their defense collapsed and forgot how to cover. For the season, the Vikings have gotten ahead against far superior opponents than this Steeler team.
    3.    Pittsburghs best corner is out in this game. Yes, Adam Thielen is also out, but he is a few years removed from being the Vikings’ best pass-catcher. Good luck covering Justin Jefferson with an injured secondary.
    4.    Minnesota is averaging 30 points a game in their last 5 games. Pittsburgh has only scored 30 points 1 time all season.
    5.    Neither team can run the football. Dalvin Cook is hurt. Alexander Mattison is okay but not Cook. Najee Harris is great at catching short passes but less than decent at grinding out yards between the tackles. That means this will fall on the QBs. At this point, Kirk Cousins has played this season at an almost pro bowl level and Big Ben is barely better than Jared Goff.
In the end, I trust Kirk Cousins more. I trust home-field advantage more on nationally televised games and I trust Vegas didn’t get this line wrong despite everyone wanting to bet Pittsburgh.
Minnesota -3 with a suspicious mind.
