The NHL needs to have fans on Zoom for their games

Janner

This is a must happen or I may cry.

Danish soccer teams are getting creative, and having fans call into a Zoom meeting to cheer on their favourite teams from home.

In Denmark, they set up fancy screens around the pitch, but for the NHL, the jumbotrons are practically useless now without fans at the rink, so they have a perfect set up!

Get thousands of fans up on the jumbotron in Zoom calls, pump in their audio as a little “crowd noise” for fun (if the teams agree to it) and continue on with the empty barn games.

Now knowing hockey fans, I’m sure we’ll get some very inappropriate behaviour on screen if this is left a free for all, but if monitored properly, I think we’ll be fine.
