Tuesday night (July 20) at the JRC, the Fort Saskatchewan Rebels defeated the Edmonton Warriors 7-5 to open up the 2021 North Playoffs.
Jackson Porter dominated both sides of the floor, scoring twice in the win. AP Reed Low had the game winner in the fourth quarter and Josh McCallion chipped in with two of his own including the insurance marker on a sweet dish from Low.
After going down 1-0, captain Ethan Pedersen blasted one past Kyver Van Iderstine on the powerplay to inject life into the Fort bench. Jaxon Kohut had the other goal for Fort Sask.
Hunter Lukawesky made 26 saves between the pipes for the Rebels.
Joe Royer led the way for Edmonton with a pair of goals, while the team’s penalty killing unit went 4/5 on the night.
Fort Saskatchewan is back on the floor tonight to face the St. Albert Crude at 8:30 p.m.
Other playoff action last night saw the Crude defeat the Sherwood Park Outlaws 5-2.
