The NHL Regular Season will begin tonight and people are trying to place their bets in for the 2021-2022 NHL Stanley Cup Title. The Tampa Bay Lightning have won back-to-back Stanley Cup Titles. They are looking to three-peat and it would be the first team to do so since the New York Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cup Titles from 1980-1983. Tampa Bay’s odds to three-peat today is +500 on BETUS.

They have the second-best odds to win the Stanley Cup this season. For the second consecutive season, the Colorado Avalanche is the favorite to win it all. They have a +400 odds on BETUS. The Vegas Golden Knights are the third favorites to win it all with +750 odds on BETUS.

I would honestly stay away from all three of these teams unless you want to lose money. First of all, the Colorado Avalanche has a loaded roster with Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar, but they have failed to get past the second round.

It is extremely hard to win Stanley Cups these days. I can’t see how the Tampa Bay Lightning three-peat with losing tons of several depth pieces on the roster.

The Vegas Golden Knights can’t be trusted either. They play in an extremely weak Pacific Division. Vegas will win it going away and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they won the President’s Trophy either, but they falter in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Three teams that it is worth the risk to gamble on:
New York Islanders +1800: How in the high seas is this hockey team this low for Stanley Cup Odds? I feel like they should be the favorites to win it all because the New York Islanders are bringing everybody back from last season’s roster except for Jordan Eberle. He was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the NHL Expansion Draft.

I feel like betting New York in this situation could potentially be free money. Ilya Sorokin is going to be the full-time starting goalie. Semyon Varlamov is currently on IR. The Islanders were in the conference finals in back-to-back seasons but lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning both times.

Anders Lee is coming back from injury and Mathew Barzal is slick and one of the most electrifying players in the NHL. Barry Trotz is one of the best coaches in the NHL with a solid defensive structure in place.

Edmonton Oilers +2200: The Edmonton Oilers have Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Those are two of the top five players in the NHL. Edmonton improved drastically in the offseason with quality role players and defensemen like Warren Foegele, Zach Hyman, Duncan Keith, and Cody Ceci. Goaltending will be a major question mark for them, but the Western Conference isn’t as tough to win as the Eastern Conference is.

The Oilers are by far the second-best team in the Pacific Division. I feel like this is finally the year Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl can finally get to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Pittsburgh Penguins +2500: Everyone wants to write off Mike Sullivan and the Pittsburgh Penguins, but they just won’t go away. Pittsburgh hasn’t won a playoff series in a few years, but they are long overdue. Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang are the core of this hockey team and they have better role players than people want to give them credit for.

This team has the talent to make a deep playoff run. It will all depend on goalie Tristan Jarry. If he doesn’t flop as he did in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season against the New York Islanders, Tristan Jarry, and the Pittsburgh Penguins could be winning a fourth Stanley Cup Title in the Sidney Crosby/Evgeni Malkin/Kris Letang ERA.
