NFL Week 13 Preview

I won't be discussing the NFL Preview on my show on Thursday, so I have decided to come up with my predictions for Week 13 of the NFL season, along with bold predictions in this article.

Last week, I went 11-3 with my predictions. It was one of my best weeks of the 2019 NFL regular season up to this point. So far this season, my record is 105-71-1. What's going to happen this week?

Thursday's Games: Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions: This one will be set to kickoff at 12:30 p.m. Eastern on FOX. Chicago beat Detroit last year on Thanksgiving by a score of 23-16. The Chicago Bears defense will be ready to feast in this one, but will Chicago's offense be ready to feast in this one? The Detroit Lions will have David Blough make his first career start at quarterback in this game. Matthew Stafford might be out for the rest of the season with rib issues. Jeff Driskel supposedly has a hamstring issue and that is why he will be the backup quarterback in this game. Losing on the road last week against the Washington Redskins by a score of 19-16 is inexcusable. I will take the Chicago Bears to win this one 27-10.

Buffalo Bills vs Dallas Cowboys: Buffalo will have a massive coaching advantage in this game over Dallas. Sean McDermott is a coach Jerry Jones wish he had right now. Jason Garrett has way more talent to work with than McDermott does. The difference is the Buffalo Bills have an identity. They play defense and will run the football. Amari Cooper could potentially have another rough outing against Tre'Davious White. He is one of the most underrated cornerbacks in the NFL. Josh Allen will get his first go around on a Nationally Televised game. If Allen out plays Dak Prescott, say bye bye to Jason Garrett Friday morning as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Buffalo makes a statement on National TV and wins 30-16.

New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons: I don't expect the Atlanta Falcons to beat the New Orleans Saints twice in one season. Atlanta laid an egg at home last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New Orleans needs to keep pace of the San Francisco 49ers for the number one seed in the NFC. The Saints can not get caught looking ahead to next week. Michael Thomas and Julio Jones will be tough to cover in this game. The difference in this game will be Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray being able to run the ball and Devonta Freeman and Brian Hill having a difficult time running the ball. New Orleans wins this game 24-21.

Sunday's Games: Game of the Week: San Francisco 49ers vs Baltimore Ravens: I am not a gambler by any means, but what is strange is that the San Francisco 49ers will be underdogs heading into this game as a 10-1 team. This is the first in a decade that a 10-1 team on the road is an underdog. One of the reasons why that is the case is because of how well Lamar Jackson is playing right now. However, Earl Thomas opened up his mouth and it could come back to bite them. I am sure that San Francisco will now use that as bulletin board material. However, there will be a ton of offense in this game. This will be a tough game to pick from. At the end of the day, Ravens may not be stopped on offense but Jimmy Garoppolo and the running game could be a problem. The 49ers win this game on a last second field goal by a score of 38-35.

Upset Special: Arizona Cardinals over the Los Angeles Rams: The Arizona Cardinals will win this game at home against the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 28-24. Arizona has not been blown out much this season. Los Angeles has a major issue at its hand. Jared Goff did not throw a touchdown pass in November. He has not played well even though the offensive line has not been great. Kyler Murray has been playing better than Goff has had right now. Kenyan Drake might outplay Todd Gurley in this game. Kliff Kingsbury is going to out coach Sean McVay in this game and if you thought I would be saying that in Week 13 this season, I would have told you, you are crazy!

Blowout: Green Bay Packers over the New York Giants: This game will be the biggest blowout of the week as the Green Bay Packers will take down the New York Giants by a score of 38-10. Green Bay was embarrassed last Sunday night on the road against the San Francisco 49ers. They are about to enter a therapy room against a weak New York defense. The players always fall up short for Pat Shurmur. Saquon Barkley has regressed. Daniel Jones will be alright, but he is going to be in awe of what Aaron Rodgers does this weekend.

Tennessee Titans vs Indianapolis Colts: The winner of this game could potentially be the number six seed in the AFC at the end of Sunday. Tennessee has won their last four-out-of-five games. Ryan Tannehill has been a spark plug at quarterback. Their offense looks more fluent. Derrick Henry is a work horse in the back field for the Tennessee Titans. The defense is also very good on all levels. As for the Indianapolis Colts, if they don't win this game, I think they are toast. Indianapolis might have hit their ceiling on the offensive side of the ball and Jacoby Brissett has not been the same. Jonathan Williams might be get the start at tailback again this week. Marlon Mack would be a huge boost on offense though. Tennessee takes down the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 21-17.

New York Jets vs Cincinnati Bengals: Sam Darnold and the New York Jets have won three straight games and they are thinking playoffs right now. As for the Cincinnati Bengals, they are still looking for their first win of the regular season. Andy Dalton will go back to being the starting quarterback. Head Coach Zac Taylor was not impressed by Ryan Finley at all. They are going to have to draft a quarterback and it will potentially be with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft coming up in April. For the time being, Cincinnati just wants to win a game. It would be typical Jets for them to lose this one. I don't see it happening. Le'Veon Bell might have a big day on the ground and Joe Mixon might as well. New York wins this game over Cincinnati by a score of 38-21.

Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers: There would have been fireworks in this game once again had Myles Garrett wasn't suspended and if Mason Rudolph wasn't benched in favor of Devlin Hodges on Sunday. Rudolph must be really bad if he got benched against the Cincinnati Bengals in a 16-13 road win last weekend. Cleveland won the last meeting between these two teams by a score of 21-7. This is a huge game because the Browns are 5-6 and the Steelers 6-5. Pittsburgh could potentially end Cleveland's season on Sunday. If the Cleveland Browns win, it is a new ball game in the AFC Wild Card Race. Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Odell Beckham Jr., and the rest of the crew is going to be ready to roll. James Conner will most likely be out in this one. Cleveland wins this game by a score of 24-23.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Miami Dolphins: If the Philadelphia Eagles do not win this game on Sunday, their fan base will be calling for I don't know what. Carson Wentz is under immense pressure to get a win this weekend. Philadelphia has the easiest schedule remaining in the NFL this season. The Eagles need to run the ball with Jay Ajayi and Miles Sanders. It would be a bonus if they got Jordan Howard back. At the expense however, they need some wide receivers healthy in this game. Nelson Agholor and Alshon Jeffrey could be used. Greg Ward and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside need the ball more. Zach Ertz is always catching passes and Dallas Goedert needs to be involved more. Miami will play hard in this game, but the Dolphins offense will be bleh. Philadelphia cruises to a 38-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Washington Redskins vs Carolina Panthers: The Carolina Panthers defense will make Dwayne Haskins Jr. look extremely bad in this game. Haskins Jr. celebrated too early last week and he needs to learn to grow up and be a mature leader. Kyle Allen and Christian McCaffrey should have a field day against this Washington Redskins defense. As long as Carolina's kicker, Joey Slye, can put the ball up through the up rights, the Panthers will find a way to win over Washington. Carolina takes down the Redskins by a score of 30-20.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Jacksonville Jaguars: These two Florida teams will most likely not make it to the playoffs this season and they are playing for pride this last in the season. Tampa Bay has one of the best offensive personnel in the league. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin is a nightmare to cover for the Buccaneers if you are defensive backs. They don't have a very good running game, but Head Coach Bruce Arians tries to establish one. Jacksonville's offense has been rusty in the last two weeks with Nick Foles. The Jaguars defense got walloped against the Tennessee Titans on the road 42-20 last weekend. Leonard Fournette and D.J. Chark could cause problems for Tampa Bay's defense. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will win this game over the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 30-24.

Oakland Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs: I am not counting on the Oakland Raiders getting blown out of the water again this weekend on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs. Oakland will be more fresh this time around and they will be ready to play. Josh Jacobs needs to control the tempo of this game by running the football. Patrick Mahomes is going to torch his opponents for the rest of the season because everyone is forgetting about him. Tyreek Hill did not play in the last match up and he will in this one. Kansas City wins this game on a last second field goal by a score of 38-35.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Denver Broncos: The Los Angeles Chargers should be able to win this game, but who knows since it is a divisional game. Los Angeles is better talent wise than the Denver Broncos are. Their defense will keep them in the game, but the Chargers defense will be better. Derwin James returns in this game for Los Angeles. They will take down Denver by a score of 20-17.

New England Patriots vs Houston Texans: This will be a big game for the New England Patriots on the road. If they lose and Baltimore wins, New England will drop to the number two seed in the AFC. With that being said, the Patriots defense will be good enough in this game to stymie the Houston Texans offense. Bill O'Brien does not coach well in big time games. Bill Belichick will out coach him big time. The Patriots need to run the football. Deshaun Watson is a better quarterback right now than Tom Brady is. DeAndre Hopkins and Stephon Gillmore will be an interesting wide receiver and corner back match up. Jason McCourty will most likely be on Will Fuller V in this game. N'Keal Harry could be a big time factor in the passing game for the New England Patriots. They will this game over Houston by a score of 24-21.

Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks: If the Minnesota Vikings win this game, they will most likely move into the number five seed in the NFC unless the Green Bay Packers lose on the road against the New York Giants which I don't see happening. If the Seattle Seahawks win this game, not only will they stay in the five seed, but they could potentially be in first place in the NFC West if the San Francisco 49ers were to lose on the road against the Baltimore Ravens. Kirk Cousins won't be the greatest quarterback in this game, but I expect Offensive Coordinator Kevin Stefanski to get him setup in big situations. Dalvin Cook could have a big game in this one. Russell Wilson will play well, but the defense could be challenged. If Jadeveon Clowney does not play in this game, Seattle's chances might be doomed. Minnesota will win this game on a last second field goal by a score of 31-28.

Bold Predictions: 1. Josh Allen out plays Dak Prescott on National TV and it will lead to Jason Garrett being fired as head coach for the Dallas Cowboys.

2. The Chicago Bears defense will have five turnovers and score two touchdowns.

3. Aaron Rodgers throws for 400 yards and five touchdowns on the road against the New York Giants.

4. Patrick Mahomes puts the NFL World on notice and will throw close to 500 yards and six touchdowns against the Oakland Raiders at home.

5. Josh Jacobs rushes for 200 yards and three touchdowns on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Stay tuned for my show on Thursday at 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. here on 12ozsportsradio.com.
