NFL Power Rankings – week 13 by Mike

Michael Karvelis

The Baltimore Ravens beat the brakes off of the Los Angeles Rams while San Francisco did the same to Green Bay. So, who should be a top of the Mike Rank? I'm glad you asked...

NFL Week 13 #MikeRank

  1. BALTIMORE RAVENS (+1) I am just as amazed as everyone else is about Lamar Jackson. Under the brightest lights, he shines. The possible league MVP is nearly impossible to stop. Add weapons like Mark Ingram, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, Mark Andrews, AND a defense? This team has taken the next step a year early.
  2. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (-1) I guess the BYE week kind of made me forget, but make no mistake: This team is bleeding purple all over the NFL. In this league, as good as your running back may be (Dalvin Cook), you need a quarterback who is capable. I don't know WHAT inspired Kirk Cousins, but he has been BALLING. It has to be recognized, so here I am. The Vikings have a Super Bowl caliber roster. Yes, that includes Kirk.
  3. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (+1) It's kind of funny. I understand this squad is 10-1. While that is really good, I don't trust Jimmy Garoppolo. On top of that, the best team they have beaten has been the Green Bay Packers. I respect Kyle Shanahan. The defense is pretty good. Do I trust this team in a Playoff game? NO! As a fan of the 49ers said to me on Twitter: "Mike puts ketchup on his macaroni and cheese." Gross, I know. But they are overrated.
  4. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-1) Did they win? Sure. Have I lost faith? A little. Drew Brees has been good since his return, but how long will it last? I have never trusted Alvin Kamara. I refuse to rely on Latavius Murray as my bell cow back. Plus, the defense isn't as good as it was early on. Still, a very good opportunity to compete.
  5. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (+1) The league pests have re entered the Top 5. Tom Brady IS getting worse. The run game is DEFINITELY in question. That being said, Bill Belichick is a defensive mastermind. I will say this: If Baltimore snags the top AFC seed, Patriots ain't winning in Baltimore.
  6. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (+1) Russell Wilson was the leading MVP candidate until he regressed the last two weeks. Chris Carson is good. His backup Rashaad Penny rushed for a career high 120+ rushing yards in week 12. Tyler Lockett is really good. Jacob Hollister has been impressive in place of injured Will Dissly. On the defensive side, Jadeveon Clowney FINALLY looks like a number one pick. That being said, I don't view this team as an NFC competitor if asked to go on the road.
  7. GREEN BAY PACKERS (-2) In the words of the latest Stephen A Smith meme: "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" My ketchup was DRIPPING off of my mac n cheese and these MORONS flat out got SPANKED on Sunday Night vs a team I called overrated. On a serious note, I love Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Jones and Jamall Williams are a good 1-2 punch running back corps. Plus, the defensive line is nice. I do NOT trust the wide receivers despite Devante Adams being there. And, rookie coach Matt LeFleur is inconsistent with room to improve.
  8. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (NA) Yes, Patrick Mahomes is still the best quarterback in the game. Still, Kansas City needs a pulse of a defense. They can score, sure. But remember: DEFENSE wins championships even in today's NFL.
  9. Buffalo Bills (+3) Josh Allen is growing on me. Devin Singletary is a nice running back. Frank Gore never dies. The defense is good, too. I need to see more though. Can this team play with the contenders?
  10. Dallas Cowboys (-1) Unfortunately, I am writing this after the Bills BODY SLAMMED the Cowboys IN Dallas on THANKSGIVING. That being said, Dak Prescott is still a good leader. Ezekiel Elliott remains a beast. Michael Gallup is emerging as a good #2. The defense has been a disappointment and do NOT get me started on Jason Garrett. Expect a drop from the Top 10 after this weekend.
  11. Texans
  12. Colts
  13. Browns
  14. Rams
  15. Titans
  16. Eagles
  17. Steelers
  18. Jets
  19. Panthers
  20. Bears
  21. Raiders
  22. Jaguars
  23. Cardinals
  24. Lions
  25. Buccaneers
  26. Falcons
  27. Chargers
  28. Giants
  29. Broncos
  30. Redskins
  31. Dolphins
  32. Bengals
