Hello readers,
My name is Lee W. Mowen (pronounced Mal-win) and this is my first article written exclusively for 12oz Sports. I’m a Play-by-Play Broadcaster, Public Address Announcer, and Podcaster from the Dayton, Ohio region. In my career, I’m very close to calling my 1,200th broadcast and I’ve been a P.A. Announcer for over 500 games. I also run “The Cincinnati and Dayton Sports Podcast,” a weekly podcast which will turn three years old next month.
I have experience in broadcasting ice hockey, football (outdoor, indoor, and Aussie-rules), baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and one lacrosse game. As a P.A. Announcer, I’ve announced most of those sports, along with wrestling, swimming/diving, and roller derby. I also covered The Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati for a live blog a few summers ago. There’s no off-season for yours truly, just changing of the seasons.
I’m really excited to join the team as a writer! You can expect a lot of Southwest Ohio sports coverage, especially games and teams I cover during a season…you know, when we actually get sports back. In the mean time, I’m on Twitter at theleewmowen.
