Grading the Arizona Cardinals first two days of the draft

Two picks, two solid additions.

That’s my general observation of the Arizona Cardinals first two days of the 2020 NFL Draft. At #8, the Cards got Isaiah Simmons from Clemson who was one of the most versatile defensive players in this year’s draft. He’s going to make an immediate impact as the teams new Swiss Army knife. 9.4/10

After taking a nap in the second round, Steve Keim did Kyler Murray a favour by drafting OT Josh Jones from Houston. Now yes he is likely going to have to transition to the right side, but I like his agility for a big man and he really dominated at the college level. 7.7/10

All in all, I like what AZ did with their two picks. I do wish they could have added an offensive weapon like CeeDee Lamb, but I completely understand why they went with Simmons and Jones.

What’s next? On Day 3 I expect the Cardinals to continue stacking up in the backend (maybe a safety?) and also taking a stab at a receiver and running back.
