What a start.
The Chicago Cubs slinger pitched a complete game shutout (3-0) in their season opener against the Brewers.
– First Opening Day complete game by a Cub since 1974
– Only the second pitcher in the last 30 years to throw a complete game shutout on opening day without a walk
– First pitcher to throw a CG shutout with 9+ strikeouts, 0 walks and 3 or less hits on opening day since 1888
Those stats/records…. Incredible.
It’s a simple choice, give Kyle Hendricks the MVP already.
