The most exciting FCS conference gets underway this month.
There’s nothing like the Big Sky Conference. Football in Montana is unrivaled in the north. Great atmospheres, massive crowds and of course, good football.
After Eastern Washington made their run to the national championships last year, the stakes have now been raised.
Now I don’t think they’ll make it back to the big dance, but they do return a fair amount of starters (5-O/5-D) so they have to be in the Big Sky championship conversation.
Here’s my prediction for the final standings:
1. Eastern Washington (Eric Barriere with 31 TDs last year is something the QB will improve on)
2. Montana (QB Dalton Sneed is the best in the Big Sky. He averaged 309 yards of total offense per game. It all depends on the stunts Bobby Hauck tries to pull from the sidelines.)
3. Montana State (17 projected returning starters, plus they’ve had the Griz’s number in the past. I think it’s time for a change.)
4. UC Davis (Great season last year, can they repeat? I’m not too confident.)
5. Weber State (Another team with a good 2018, but their defence isn’t great.)
6. Northern Arizona (Newcomer Chris Ball could turn around the Lumberjacks.)
7. Idaho State
8. Idaho
9. Southern Utah
10. Cal Poly
11. Sacramento State
12. Portland State
13. Northern Colorado
