As the Olympic flame reached Beijing, the epicenter of the 2022 Olympics starting in February, activist groups disrupted the flame lighting ceremony in southern Greece on Monday stating that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is basically advocating for human rights abuses by the Chinese Communist Party.
Many site that China has become even more emboldened since the Summer Games in 2008, however, IOC president Thomas Bach said the Games must be "respected as politically neutral ground."
The IOC has never been shy about putting money above people.
