Game Preview

Landry Jones will be making his XFL debut for the Renegades. Jones had a lingering knee injury that kept him out of the Week 1 against the BattleHawks. The Renegades are at full strength going into this game. Josh Johnson should be ready to go today for his 1st start in his XFL career for the Wildcats. He was held out due to a Thigh injury. The Wildcats are down to only 2 signal callers. The other QB Is Jalan McClendon who struggled when he was inserted into the game last week.

Week 1 starter Charles Kanoff was hurt while sliding late in the 4th quarter which resulted in a separated shoulder and a mild concussion. Kanoff has been ruled out this week. Renegades are expected to open up the playbook a bit this week after such a ineffective start to the season on Offense Jones will have a good grasp of things due to his time with Renegades HC Bob Stoops his former HC at Oklahoma.

Renegades have a tough Defense that only allowed 15 points. The Defense spent too much time out on the field this week they will bring the same intensity especially with what they’ve seen on film on the Wildcats. The Wildcats will need to establish the run with Elijah Hood Also draw up deceptive pass plays to get SmallWood and Spruce going early. The play action sets will be vital in this game. The Wildcats should mix some RPO sets this week again. The Offense should have a consistent flow with Johnson under Center. Time of possession is going to key as well was a good asset for the Wildcats in Week 1.

The Wildcats Defense was shaking up after allowing 37 points with 25 unanswered coming in 2-4 Quarters. This group was embarrassed and humbled. By Monday Coach Moss made some critical moves by Firing Def. Coordinator Pepper Johnson and trading team captain Anthony Johnson to the Defenders. Aj was seen as 1 of the faces of the franchise. Today we will see if these changes will improve this Defense from last week.
