Week Two 12oz Sports Cup preview

Janner

Can the Rebels stay undefeated? Can the Mustangs find some more offence? Will the Rivermen ever win a game?

These are all the questions fans are craving to find answers for in the second week of the 12oz Sports Cup. So let’s take a look at those Week Two games.

7 – Rivermen vs Mustangs

The top offence in the group takes on the top defence. On paper, this heavy weight tilt could be the game of the night and we get to open up with it! One key match up you have to keep an eye on will be Warriors’ teammates Greg Bourret vs Jon McMillan.

7:30 – Rhinos vs Redwoods

Unexpectedly, the Redwoods came out of the gate a little more rusty than I predicted, but this is still a team you can’t sleep on. The Rhinos struggled without the likes of Ethan Eang and Ethan Wong in the lineup, so a lot could be expected once again from Seth Fairholm and Jordan Wheaton. Both of these winless teams will look to battle it out while fresh to avoid last place.

8 – Redwoods vs Rivermen

Back to back games for the Redwoods, that’s tough enough as is. Facing the ever-dangerous Rivermen in that game, that’s a task I’m not sure the Redwoods will be able to conquer if the Rivermen are firing on all cylinders.

8:30 – Mustangs vs Rebels

Can Carter Albrecht keep up his two goals per game pace for the Rebels? The hottest team in Week One will look to keep their perfect record going as the take on Sam Dalk and the defensive Stangs. With McMillan holding a GAA of 1.5 and Trace Stewart at 2.3, we are in for a low scoring thriller.

9 – Redwoods vs Rebels

The Rebels won the first match up between these two teams 5-3, so the Redwoods will be out for revenge against the Rebs who are on the second half of a back-to-back.

9:30 – Rhinos vs Rivermen

Might as well call this one Greg Bourret vs Jordan Wheaton. FEED ME ALL THE GOALS.
