The XFL has officially drafted quarterbacks.
Here’s my brief breakdown:
Tampa Bay Vipers – Aaron Murray
Former Georgia Bulldog and KC draft pick. Stud in college, started to get things going with Atlanta in the AAF (before it folded). Probably a top four XFL QB on paper.
St. Louis Battlehawks – Jordan Ta’amu
Young, no pro experience, couldn’t crack the Houston Texans. The Ole Miss grad is a massive gamble for St. Louis.
Los Angeles Wildcats – Luis Perez
He’s well toured from D2 college, multiple practice rosters, the AAF and now the XFL. Still looking to get his feet set as a starter. Can move the ball real well.
New York Guardians – Matt McGloin
Matty walk-on. The former Penn State starter does have some NFL experience (11TDs) with the Oakland Raiders. Very nice piece for NY to build around.

Houston Roughnecks – Phillip Walker
Another younger QB, undersized, but had enough potential out of Temple that Indianapolis kept giving him a shot. He put up ridiculous numbers in college (74TD, 10,668 yds), but he’ll have to adjust to the big boy game now.
Seattle Dragons – Brandon Silvers
Is this the AAF part 2?!?! Silver helped turn around a horrid Memphis Express team which earned him a shot with the Jets. He’s big with potential, but he hasn’t been a full-time starter yet.
Dallas Renegades – Landry Jones
The most experienced QB to be drafted for sure. Tore up Oklahoma, has NFL experience (mostly as a back up), but that experience and confidence will make Jones the consensus #1 QB in the XFL right now.
DC Defenders – Cardale Jones
Most potential out of the first eight picked. Massive QB who tore up college football on the biggest stage. Couldn’t crack the NFL as a starter, but Jones could use this time in DC to prove himself.
