The Saints Season Has Derailed

Glenn Kaplan

The New Orleans Saints appeared to be a top 10 NFL team about a month ago in the NFL when they took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and improved to 5-2 then. New Orleans is now on a five-game losing streak after they lost on Thursday night football at home against the Dallas Cowboys by a final score of 27-17.

They are 0-5 ever since Jameis Winston suffered a season-ending Torn ACL. Say what you want about him being turnover-prone, but he is miles and miles ahead better than Trevor Siemian and Taysom Hill at the quarterback position.

I was not expecting them to derail like this. The defense is finally getting worn down. Injuries have not helped this football team either.

Taysom Hill was in for a rough night for the New Orleans Saints. He completed 19-of-41 passes for 264 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions. Hill rushed for 101 yards on 11 carries. He was the team’s leading rusher.

Deonte Harris was the Saints leading receiver with four receptions for 98 yards receiving and a touchdown. He caught a 70-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter when the football game was out of reach.

Taysom Hill also threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Lil’Jordan Humphrey in the second quarter. Not having Michael Thomas around this season for New Orleans at the wide receiver position has hurt them big time.

Hill also threw a 29-yard pick-six to Carlos Watkins in the fourth quarter and the Dallas Cowboys have four pick-sixes this season and they haven’t reached this season 1999.

This was a good win for Dallas because they are back on track. Mike McCarthy didn’t coach due to a positive COVID-19 test and Dan Quinn was the interim head coach for this football game. This was his first game as the lead guy since being the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons for the past few years.

As for head coach Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints. their playoff streak is in jeopardy in the first season without quarterback Drew Brees and his leadership is missed down here in the locker room big time.

The Dallas Cowboys (8-4) next football game will be on the road next Sunday in an NFC East showdown against The Washington Football Team (5-6).

The New Orleans Saints (5-7) next football game will be on the road next Sunday against the New York Jets (3-8).

Projecting Russia’s 2022 Olympic Roster

This is the second part to my 2022 Olympic roster series. We are going to safely assume in this series that all NHL players will be allowed to go, as predicting who won’t go and boycotts just adds a mess into things. I want to reiterate before we start that […]
