The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Minnesota Vikings 36-28 on Thursday night football on the road.
This comes a few days after Pittsburgh pulled the upset at home against their AFC North Divisional rivals in the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers are in a lot of trouble in making it to the playoffs this year.
They were down 29-0 at one point. Pittsburgh had a chance to tie it late, but Ben Roethlisberger threw an incomplete pass to Pat Freiermuth in the end zone as time expired.
Their defense was smashed in the mouth all night long. They don’t have the same mentality anymore. A lot of people are coming to turn on head coach Mike Tomlin. They haven’t won a playoff game in over four years. Pittsburgh doesn’t have the talent they used to have. Something is not right there. They don’t believe in rebuilds, but they may have no choice but to tear it all down.
Ben Roethlisberger completed 28-of-40 passes for 308 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He is the definition of a true Pittsburgh Steelers player.
They will have four games left and they could legitimately lose all four of those games. Pittsburgh will face the Tenenssee Titans (8-4) at home next Sunday, then they will be on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs (8-4), then why will be at home against the Cleveland Browns (6-6), and then they will be on the road for the final week of the regular season against the Baltimore Ravens (8-4).
This is not a cupcake schedule by any means. The Pittsburgh Steelers may have massive changes if they miss the playoffs once again.
Also, the Minnesota Vikings (6-7) are in the thick of the NFC Wild Card playoff race and their next football game will be on the road next Monday night against the Chicago Bears (4-8).
