Premier League clubs voted unanimously to return to contact training on Wednesday, allowing them to engage in tackling while still trying to maintain unnecessary close contact. This should be interesting for sure.
The League stated, "our priority is the health and well being of all participants. Strict medical protocols are in place to ensure the training ground is the safest environment possible and players and staff will continue to be tested for COVID-19 twice a week. Discussions are ongoing as work continues towards resuming the season, when conditions allow."
Which means, unfortunately, they're only cleared to practice for now.
The league will maintain caution as they have had 6 positive tests out of 748 players and personnel checked. Burnley confirmed an assistant coach and Watford confirmed 3 members have all tested positive, with one of those positives an unidentified player. Watford striker Troy Deeney said last week that he would not attend training since he has an infant son and is extremely worried about bringing the virus home.
