Matchweek 17: Czech Fortuna Liga

Cody Janzen

Slavia is starting to pull away.

Matchweek 17 in the Czech Fortuna Liga saw the red&white top Opava 3-2, Plzen stay in the chase for first with a 2-0 win over Olomouc and Jablonec clean Zlin 4-0.

Bohemians and Dukla played the most boring game of the week and maybe all season for a supposed “derby” match that ended in a 0-0 draw.

Sparta got upset by Slovacko 2-1 and Liberec was upset by Teplice 1-0.

Mlada Boleslav’s Nikolay Komlicenko has 15 tucks to lead the liga.

Looking ahead to Matchweek 18, Slavia vs Boleslav could be entertaining as Praha has score an impressive 43 goals as a team, but Komlicenko has been a weapon this season averaging just under a goal a game for the 8th best team in the league.
