The Los Angeles Dodgers won the National League West title for the seventh consecutive season on Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles in a 7-3 win.

On Wednesday night, it was a different story for Los Angeles. Jonathan Villar hit the go-ahead three-run homer for Baltimore in the seventh-inning off of Caleb Ferguson to give the Orioles a 5-2 lead. Baltimore went on to win the game 7-3.

Pedro Severino hit a two-run homer for the Baltimore Orioles in the eighth-inning off of Adam Kolarek.

Matt Beaty had an RBI single in the ninth-inning for the Dodgers.

Dwight Smith Jr. had an RBI double for Baltimore in the second-inning.

A.J. Pollock hit a two-run homer for Los Angeles in the fourth-inning off of John Means.

Smith Jr. had an RBI single in the sixth-inning to tie the game at two and the rest was history.

Shawn Armstrong (1-1) was the winning pitcher for the Orioles. He pitched 1.2 innings and gave up one hit. Armstrong also struck out a batter.

Caleb Ferguson (1-2) was the losing pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He pitched 0.1 innings and gave up two hits and three runs. Ferguson walked one batter.

Ross Stripling was the starting pitcher for Los Angeles. He pitched three innings and gave up three hits and one run. Stripling struck out two batters.

John Means was the starting pitcher for Baltimore. He pitched 6.1 innings and gave up four hits and two runs. Means walked one batter and struck out six.

The Baltimore Orioles now have 47 wins on the season and they have 98 losses . Baltimore matches their win total from last season.

As for the Los Angeles Dodgers, they are at 94 wins and 53 losses. They hold a three-game lead on the Atlanta Braves for the first spot in the National League.

Los Angeles is only one game back of the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees for the best record in baseball.

The Dodgers will most likely play either against the Washington Nationals, the Chicago Cubs, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Arizona Diamondbacks, or the New York Mets in the NLDS.

Los Angeles will most likely face the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS, but could maybe face the St. Louis Cardinals as well.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost two-out-of-three at home to the New York Yankees in late August. Los Angeles will play two games against the Tampa Bay Rays next week. Tampa Bay could very well make the playoffs as well.

The Baltimore Orioles are currently in a rebuilding phase.

The projected starters for the game on Thursday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland will be Rich Hill (4-1, 2.55 ERA) for Los Angeles and Dylan Bundy (6-13, 5.06 ERA) for the Orioles.
