Kevin Kisner – Speed Golf Expert

All you weekend hacks better keep your wives away from any golf broadcasts today, or she will soon discover it does not need to take over 6 hours to complete a round of golf.

Kevin Kisner, playing solo in the final round of the Open Championship in Sandwich, England early this morning, fired a 68 (-2) in a blistering pace of 2hrs 31 minutes, making me question why I must always block off half a Saturday to go whack it around my local muni with the boys. Perhaps throwing back some big boy pops during the round slows us up.

Phil Casey on Twitter: "Kevin Kisner, pictured earlier on the 12th green, was 1st out on his own and got round in 68 in 2hrs 31 minutes precisely #TheOpen pic.twitter.com/wHm26iZmnf / Twitter"

This actually reminds me of an old movie, "Houseguest" with Sinbad. Of course, mister Bad played fast for ulterior reasons...

Believe it or not, this is not the fastest round in PGA event history. That record belongs to Wesley Bryan, who in 2017 completed his final round in the RBC Heritage Open in under an hour and a half! According to Golf Monthly (2017), "Bryan was throwing clubs at his caddie, running down fairways and even took out flags himself. He also tapped in a few putts with his wedge" (para. 5).

In summary, it is time for us hacks to end the marathon 6-hour rounds...we can do it.
