The New York Giants lost to the Atlanta Falcons on Eli Manning Day 17-14 on a Younghoe Koo field goal from 40 yards out as time expired. New York head coach Joe Judge had a lot to do with this loss.
He is terrible at mismanaging timeouts and also disciplining his players. The New York Giants schedule isn’t going to get any easier and there is a legitimate chance they go 0-17. When New York is 0-8 in five weeks from now, Joe Judge may not even be coaching this football team.
Remember when they thought he would change the culture of this franchise and he blamed the Philadelphia Eagles for the New York Giants missing the playoffs last year? Pepperidge Farms Remembers.
Well, Judge is just another NFL head coach coaching over his head. He is another Matt Patricia. Judge could very well be the worst head coach in New York Giants history. I understand everyone wants to blame general manager Dave Gettleman and he deserves his fair share of criticism, but Gettleman wasn’t the one who said, “discipline.” It was Joe Judge and the players must not be responding to him.
Joe Judge was already barking at the New York sports media after the game was over. The next winnable game for them will be in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears (1-2).
New York Giants fans are already blaming Joe Judge and turning on him. I don’t blame them honestly one bit. In order for the New York Giants to do things right this time around, the general manager and the head coach need to go at the same time. Pat Shurmur and Ben McAdoo were better coaches than Joe Judge currently is.
They are arguably the worst team in the NFL and that even includes the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Detroit Lions, who are also 0-3. If you don’t think the players have turned on Joe Judge yet, they are going to sooner rather than later when they get their buts kicked over the next several weeks.
Co-owner John Mara was being booed at halftime today. He doesn’t blame the fanbase one bit. Mara declined to comment to reporters after the game was over. It looks like upper management, along with other Co-owner Steve Tisch whiffed on the Joe Judge hiring. He is another typical Bill Belichick assistant failure. Joe Judge was the special team’s coordinator with the New England Patriots a couple of seasons ago.
Arthur Smith picked up his first career win as a head coach in the NFL after being the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans the last couple of seasons.
Joe Judge has to get back to the drawing board in a hurry. His offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is also horrendous and so is his defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. New York is 18-49 over the last five seasons and it is the worst record in the NFL.
The Atlanta Falcons (1-2) will host The Washington Football Team (1-2) next Sunday.
The New York Giants (0-3) will be on the road against the New Orleans Saints (2-1) next Sunday.
