This week in MMA, Donald Cerrone, Mike Perry and Jackson-Wink MMA have been all over the headlines. Cerrone who has been training at Jackson’s since 2007 in slated to fight Mike Perry on November 10th in Denver Colorado. Perry has recently made the choice to move from Florida to New Mexico to train in the Jackson Wink Gym. Being is though they are about to fight and Cerrone has been training with everyone in the gym for a decade, he felt that Greg Jackson shouldn’t have allowed Perry to train there for this particular camp. While understandable why he made this request, Mike Winklejohn refused to turn Perry away and inevitably made Cerrone leave the gym.

With all the drama brewing, Donald appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience earlier this week. Where he talked the beef and went over his problems with the Jackson-Wink gym. He states that when he started going to Jackson’s it was more of a martial arts team.In his own words in was more of a family back in the day. He claims that over the years of Mike Winklejohn taking over the gym, the gym has become more of a “circus”. Cerrone says that anyone can go train at Jackson-wink, by stating ” now-a-days you can go spend 150$ and go spar with Holy Holm”. Although we do not know if this is true, that doesn’t seem like how a martial arts team like Jackson-Wink should operate.

On the other hand Greg Jackson has been quoted in the media saying “Donald is one of the most narcissistic people he has ever known”. Jackson claims that Cerrone doesn’t even train at Jackson’s anymore, and that he mostly trains at his personal ranch. In Greg’s eyes why would they turn Perry away from their gym when Perry comes there to train like its a full time job and Cerrone stops by like a girlfriend that you don’t like. If thats true like a wise man once said there is two sides to every story and the world has heard both sides.

No matter what side you believe, its hard not to get excited for November 10th. On the UFC’s 25th anniversary Mike Perry with Mike Winklejohn in his corner will take on Donald Cerrone who looks to prove that he is not a just gate keeper for the welterweight division.
