Cincinnati Bengals Embarrass Pittsburgh Steelers

Glenn Kaplan

The Cincinnati Bengals have won two consecutive games against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cincinnati made a massive statement at home against Pittsburgh in a 41-10 blowout win on Sunday afternoon.

The Bengals are 3-1 in AFC North play this season and it appears as if they are for real. If the Baltimore Ravens lose on Sunday night football against the Cleveland Browns (6-5), Cincinnati will be back in first place in the AFC South.

Joe Burrow is happy they swept the season series from Pittsburgh, but he feels like they have bigger goals in mind. He didn’t do a whole lot once again for Cincinnati. Burrow completed 20-of-24 passes for 190 yards one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for eight yards on one carry and a touchdown.

His eight-yard rushing touchdown was on the opening drive of the football game.

Joe Burrow’s only touchdown pass in this football game was on a 32-yard touchdown strike to Tee Higgins in the second quarter. They erupted for 21 points in that frame after being up 10-3. Higgins was the Cincinnati Bengals leading receiver in this football game with six receptions for 114 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Joe Mixon absolutely torched the Pittsburgh Steelers rush defense. He had two 1-yard rushing touchdowns (one in the second quarter and one in the fourth quarter). Mixon finished with 165 yards rushing on 28 carries and two touchdowns.

Ja’Marr Chase finished the game with only three receptions for 39 yards receiving. He was held in check.

With 37 seconds remaining in the first half, Ben Roethlisberger threw a 24-yard pick-six to Mike Hilton. Ben Roethlisberger completed 24-of-41 passes for 263 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

Najee Harris rushed for 23 yards on eight carries for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dionate Johnson was the Steelers leading receiver with nine receptions for 95 yards receiving.

Ben Roethlisberger threw a 15-yard touchdown pass for Pittsburgh in the fourth quarter to Pat Freiermuth. The game was out of reach at that point. Freiermuth finished the football game with four receptions for 40 yards receiving and a touchdown.

A lot of Pittsburgh Steelers fans on Twitter are calling for head coach Mike Tomlin’s job and also general manager Kevin Colbert’s job after this embarrassing loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. Zac Taylor has done a solid job with this Cincinnati football team and they are now on a two-game winning streak after the bye week.

The Cincinnati Bengals (7-4) next football game will be at home next Sunday against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers (6-4).

The Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5-1) next football game will be at home in an AFC North rivalry showdown next Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens (7-3).
