Kansas City’s defense forced a punt on Minnesota’s next drive. The Chiefs were able to move the ball down the field and Butker made the game-winning 44-yard field goal as time expired and Kansas City defeated the Vikings by a score of 26-23.
In the first-quarter, Matt Moore threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill for the Kansas City Chiefs. Hill’s speed was a problem in this game for Minnesota’s secondary. He caught six passes for 140 yards receiving and a touchdown. Tyreek Hill also rushed for five yards on one carry.
Moore completed 125-of-35 passes for 275 yards and one touchdown.
Kirk Cousins threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Bisi Johnson later in the first-quarter for the Minnesota Vikings. That was his only reception in the game.
With the game tied at 10 in the third-quarter, Cousins threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Ameer Abdullah (missed extra-point). That was his only reception in the game. He also rushed for two yards on one carry.
Later in the third-quarter, Damien Williams scored on a 91-yard touchdown run for Kansas City. He finished the game with 125 yards on 12 carries and a score. Williams also caught two passes for three yards receiving.
With 10:59 remaining in regulation, Kirk Cousins threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph. Cousins completed 19-of-38 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for five yards on one carry.
Rudolph finished with three receptions on 23 yards receiving and a score. The leading receiver in this game for Minnesota was Laquon Treadwell with three receptions for 58 yards receiving.
Dalvin Cook was held in check for the Vikings with 71 yards rushing on 21 carries. He also caught four passes for 45 yards receiving.
Stefon Diggs was held in check. He finished with one reception for four yards. Diggs had 12 yards rushing on one carry.
Adam Thielen re-aggravated his hamstring injury in this game. Thielen missed Minnesota’s game last Thursday night at home against the Washington Redskins due to that injury. He did not record a single catch in this game.
The Minnesota Vikings (6-3) will be on the road against the Dallas Cowboys (4-3) next Sunday night. The Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) will be on the road against the Tennessee Titans (4-5) next Sunday.
