Central Michigan slandered by sports Journalists

In what I call shameful reporting, or a cheap attempt to make a name for yourself, Larry Brown Sports (whatever that is) insinuates that Central Michigan snubbed Barstool to join Washington State in the Sun Bowl on CBS December 31st. Yardbarker even piggybacked the article, word for word, as if they agree with the haphazard assessment of why Central Michigan jumped ship. The dumb quote from their article states (Larry Brown Sports, 2021), "Central Michigan decided to switch bowl games this week, and the reason for their decision was made clear" (para. 1).

The reason for this callous claim? Money, they say, which was completely baseless.

As per usual, this type of article from this type of "journalist" was accompanied with zero proof or interviews. What Larry and his beat reporters failed to mention to you was, Central Michigan's opponent, Boise State, dropped out of their bowl matchup because of covid, leaving the Chippewas with nobody to play. A day later, Miami, Fl dropped out of the Sun Bowl against Washington State because of covid. Larry and his boys thought Central should have sat around on their hands hoping a 5-7 or worse team stepped up to the plate to play them, on less than a week's notice. This may be one of the dumbest sports takes I have ever heard. Did Larry ever play football? There are no teams ready to play on four days' notice (Central lost opponent on Monday, the game is Friday).

Larry, and Yardbarker for that matter, may want to refresh their content. And to be fair, a Sports Illustrated writer fell for the same schtick also, tweeting something equally stupid out to the Twitterverse.

This is what happens when people try too hard to get known.
