Canada crushes Russia, will face USA for gold

Janner

It’s a dream scenario for Canada.

At the World Juniors semifinals in Edmonton, Canada dominated Russia in a 5-0 win.

Alex Newhook, Connor McMichael, Cole Perfetti and Braden Schneider and Dylan Cozens all scored for the defending champions.

Devon Levi stopped 28 shots for his third shutout of the tournament.

Russian phenom Yaroslav Askarov struggled in net, leading to the loss.

Canada will now face the Americans for gold. What a path to the finals, Czechs in the QF, Russia in the SF and now our friends to the south, USA in the F.

A rivalry renewed.
