Browns Lose Again Against Broncos

2019 NFL Draft Hats from New EraThe Cleveland Browns were favorites heading into this game on the road against the Denver Broncos.

Denver did not have Joe Flacco because he was put on IR with a neck injury and Brandon Allen started in his place. Allen completed 12-of-20 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, in a 24-19 win for the Broncos over Cleveland.

He also rushed for 13 yards on five carries.

Allen threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Cortland Sutton in the first-quarter. Sutton finished with five receptions for 56 yards receiving and a touchdown. He also rushed for seven yards on one carry.

In the second-quarter with Denver up 7-3, Brandon Allen threw a pass to Noah Fant and Fant broke some tackles and he broke it for a 75-yard touchdown. Noah Fant caught three passes for 115 yards receiving and a score.

With the Denver Broncos leading 17-12 in the third-quarter, Phillip Lindsay scored on a 30-yard touchdown run. He rushed for 92 yards on nine carries and a score.

With 10:47 remaining in regulation, Baker Mayfield threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Jarvis Landry. Mayfield completed 27-of-42 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 22 yards on three carries.

Landry caught six passes for 51 yards receiving and a score. Odell Bechkam Jr. was the leading receiver in this game for the Browns with five receptions for 87 yards receiving. He rushed for -5 yards on one carry.

They had a chance to score late in the game, but they couldn’t convert.

Beckham Jr. complained on the sideline during the game about not getting the ball enough. It appears that there is a breaking point in Cleveland.

Freddie Kitchens has been a terrible head coach for this team.

The Cleveland Browns (2-6) will host the Buffalo Bills (6-2) next Sunday.

The Denver Broncos (3-6) will be on a bye next week. They will be on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (6-3) in Week 11 on Sunday November 17.
