Akil Thomas the hero as Canada wins gold

What a tournament we get treated to every year.

Team Canada won gold once again as they defeated Russia 4-3 in the World Junior Championship final on Sunday (Jan.5).

Goaltender Joel Hofer was fantastic making 35 saves in the win, out-dueling Amir Miftakhov who made 26 saves.

Nikita Alexandrov (Charlottetown Islanders/QMJHL) put Russia up 1-0 with a perfect tip that went five hole.
