12 Oz Sports Fans! Here is my preview of the AFC East. I’m happy it’s football season and happy for another football season with 12 Oz Sports Network.
Nate’s Projected Record: 7-9
The Bills have completed year one under the project QB that is Josh Allen. He did show promise towards the end of the year, but the Bills iffy receiving core (Zay Jones at WR1 and Cole Beasley at WR2) is what concerns me the most on the offense side of the ball. The plus side? The Bills rolled to success with their first pick in this year’s draft with getting DT Ed Oliver who will have a stud rookie year. Also, I see former FAU great RB Devin Singletary taking over at running back for Frank Gore come mid-season. He’s an undersized back, but was exceptional for the Owls and has great potential.
Nate’s Projected Record: 3-13
The rebuild starts now for the Dolphins. NFL journeyman QB Ryan Fitzpatrick takes over the role as QB1 in Miami which should startle Dolphins fans to start the year. I see an equation this season where Josh Rosen gets more reps as QB1 as I feel like Fitzpatrick will be benched by Week 5. No more Jarvis Landry in Miami and looking the Miami depth chart at receiver besides Allen Hurns, the Dolphins receiving core is not up to par and will get demolished in the AFC East. The plus side? I am a big fan of RB Kenyan Drake and think he will be the leader of this offense this season. I also am looking to seeing DE Christian Wilkins the rookie out of Clemson to see how he can attack the QB as well as create tackles for a loss with running backs in the backfield, as he was a master of that at Clemson.

New York Jets
Nate’s Projected Record: 9-7
I think Sam Darnold makes a bigger impact this year vs. the 17 TD, 15 INT he had last season and only completed 57% of his passes. The addition of Le’Veon Bell is an absolute monster signing and I am a fan of their boosted receiving core bringing in Jamison Crowder and already having Robby Anderson who I have been high on the last few years. Defensively, the addition of LB C.J. Mosley will also pay off for the Jets this year. A 4-time pro bowler coming to New York from Baltimore, Mosley will bring the heat that so many Jets linebackers didn’t bring before him, expect him to have a monster year. I think the Jets will surprise some people this year which has not been a thought that I think many people processed.
New England Patriots
Nate’s Projected Record: 12-4
Another typical year for the Patriots is going to happen. A non Tom Brady take, I like the balance New England brings at tailback. James White is more of your receiving back and Sony Michel is more of your traditional running back that you utilize on most of your drives. They both are very versatile, and roles can be reversed as well. Defensively, didn’t change much from their Super Bowl winning ways besides drafting Chase Winovich out of Michigan, who I feel will be a nice addition at defensive end. Expect the Patriots to be the only team of this division to hit the playoffs and I see them making another run at the glorious Super Bowl. Just note Patriot fans, Jared Stidham a rookie out of Auburn is your QB2. No more Brian Hoyer to give you stability in that role under TB12.
