A New Legacy

Meriam Webster dictionary defines legacy as, “something that happened in the past or that comes from someone in the past”.

For Andrew Whitworth winning a championship fills a void when you have had a long great career, even being the all time oldest ever starter at your position.

For Cooper Kupp winning a title helps your Hall of Fame case when you retire after having one of greatest receiving seasons ever.

Aaron Donald resume speaks for itself when it comes to accolades. Donald is the only player with seven straight first team all pro elections. Donald is one of three players to win defensive player of the year three times, eight time pro bowler defensive rookie of the year (2014) and has only missed two games in his career. Those that are speculating “the mission is complete” is a hint at retirement, he is a sure fire Hall of Famer.

Winning titles also helps the dark clouds pass that have been looming over your career.

Imagine playing 13 years with the Detroit Lions. Imagine having one of the greatest receivers of all time and still not being able to succeed . The notion was that if Matt Stafford leaves Detroit he would be a winner. Stafford left Detroit as a result he proved everybody right, and won in his first season with a new team. Stafford has all the stats and accolades. The first overall pick in 2009 along with being the fastest to every passing milestone so far (20k 30k 40k and soon to be fastest to 50k). Stafford is all roads to the Hall of Fame now that he has hit every plateau except MVP.

A diva, locker room cancer bad teammate prima donna and so much more is what the media tried to portray Odell Beckham Jr as. The one thing you have to mention when you say Beckham Jr name is champion. The latter years of his Giants tenure were filled with rage and turmoil. The Cleveland years were not any better as he had to deal with a less than stellar QB throwing him the ball. One could only imagine what would come of Odell if he was on a good team with an elite QB, well it happened and he won his first ring. Even better than winning he scored the first touchdown.

A person reading off your accomplishments and starting off with champion makes everything else sound so much better.
