12oz Sports Cup Week Four preview

Janner

A champion will be crowned Tuesday night.

The inaugural 12oz Sports Cup will be handed out at the JRC as some of the top lacrosse talent in Alberta wraps up their summer competition.

We still have two round robin games to play before the semis and final, and oh wow do they ever have potential.

First up, you got the Rivermen vs the Redwoods. You’ve got two storylines here:

The Redwoods need a win or a tie if they want to advance to the semifinals AND the Rivermen, who were considered a heavy favourite coming into the 12oz Sports Cup only have one win and have yet to find their stride.

There’s a lot of marbles on the line in this one which will make for must watch TV on Zingo (Channel 761).

Following that up, you’ve got the battle for top spot as the Rebels and Mustangs duel it out.

With a win, the Mustangs would take top spot, all the Rebels need is a tie. Key matchup: Trace Stewart vs Eric George.

Getting top spot in the 12oz Sports Cup could be a huge advantage, especially if it means avoiding a team like the Rivermen in the semis.

All the action gets underway at 7pm (MST) and as always, 12oz Sports has you covered with the live broadcast on Zingo TV Channel 761, just use the promo 12OZ when signing up please and thank you.
